What is Opinion Outpost?

Opinion Outpost is an online survey site that offers you the chance to earn cash through completing surveys, watching ads, and testing products.

You can sign up for free and start earning by clicking the link for your specific country below:

There is no mobile app but you can take surveys on both tablets and mobile by going to the main site in your browser.

This way of making money online is known as GetPaidTo.

How does Opinion Outpost work?

Opinion Outpost works with businesses to help them gain marketing and product development insights. They do this by offering you surveys, polls, and focus groups designed to get your opinion. In exchange, you get offered cash rewards (Amazon, Visa, PayPal, etc).

Here’s how Opinion Outpost describes it…

Each survey you take gives you a certain number of “Opinion Points”. You then redeem these points for cash or eCards.

Opinion Outpost claims 350,000 of its users are earning up to 50 points per survey…

Opinion Outpost also claims that the average survey pays 10 points and that it’s possible to complete surveys that offer anything up to 250 points…

The platform also works on a membership tier system. You advance tiers by completing more surveys and adding more detail to your personal profile.

There are five levels (called Badges):

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond.

Unlocking the top status – Diamond – requires completing 100% of your profile and taking 50 surveys, at least one in four consecutive weeks.

As your levels increase, you will be rewarded with additional achievement points. You can find them on your survey history page. This will show as “community achievement”.

Keep in mind that you might drop down a level if you don’t maintain regular activity.

Is Opinion Outpost legit or a scam?

Opinion Outpost is definitely legit. The platform is owned by Dynata LLC, a market research company operating out of Texas, US. Dynata LLC owns other decent survey sites, such as OneOpinion, Vindale Research and QuickThoughts.

According to Opinion Outpost themselves, they have around 2 million users worldwide.

OpinionOutpost scores a solid 4.3 on Trustpilot…

However, parent company Dynata LLC has a less impressive score on the Better Business Bureau…

However, many Opinion Outpost’s users themselves report the platform being legit.

Is Opinion Outpost safe?

Opinion Outpost is safe. To redeem rewards they use mobile verification. The platform will send you a six digit code to make sure it’s you every time you cash out.

Opinion Outpost claims information will be kept private between you and clients. The platform uses a secure online portal to do this.

You can find more information on security measures via their help section.

How much does Opinion Outpost pay?

The estimated payoff on Opinion Outpost is between $1 to $2 per hour. That works out to $1.50 per hour on average.

  • $1 – $2PER HOUR

Opie Ousterhout represents a typical person doing online research studies at Opinion Outpost. As you can see, the earnings are pretty low, but this is typical for survey sites.

Pay for surveys on Opinion Outpost depends on two factors: survey length and your personal profile. According to most users, the point system works as follows…

  • 100 points = $5
  • 10 points = $0.50 (average estimate per survey)
  • 1 point = $0.05.

Many users report low earnings compared to the time required to complete a survey. The number of surveys available is also said to reduce after the first couple of weeks.

One Reddit user claims being given a few surveys after signing up only to have their account frozen before cashing out. There are also reports of attempting surveys and not qualifying.

Opinion Outpost will only tell you the duration and payout of each survey in their direct emails. You will not be able to see this information by clicking through via the main site.

Opinion Outpost Complaints

Main complaints about Opinion Outpost include:

  • Random account suspensions
  • Not qualifying for surveys
  • Poor number of surveys months after sign-up
  • Low survey payouts

Similar to some other survey sites, there are also complaints about the lack of transparency when it comes to target demographics in available surveys.

Is Opinion Outpost worth it?

Opinion Outpost isn’t worth it if you’re looking to earn a living working online. (There are much better options for that.)

Based on my research, the time it takes to do surveys, coupled with low pay, makes it a poor choice.

A possible pro is the wide number of options available to redeem rewards, but questions over qualifying could negate this.

I’d give this site a 1.8 rating overall.
